Urban Decay's New Jean-Michel Basquiat Collection

Hi Everyone!

If you follow me on twitter, you'll probably be in the know that I was at an Urban Decay blogger event last week in sunny old Newcastle Upon Tyne. The event was showcasing the new Jean-Michel Basquiat collection which is absolutely stunning and really unusual.

Jean-Michel Basquiat:

Born in 1960, Jean-Michel Basquiat was an American contemporary artist who liked to use social commentary in his paintings and believed these helped expose an inner truth about an individual. He used his creativity to express his feelings on power systems and racism and worked with street art amongst his many talents.
He sadly died at age 27 from a heroin overdose in 1988

Fast forward to 2017 and Urban Decay have really made some mini works of art (no seriously, there's even space on the back of the palettes for hanging and displaying your mini artworks).
It goes without saying that all of the shadows and blushes swatch out perfectly in true Urban Decay style, they're buttery, pigmented and stunning! As for the liners and lipsticks? Pure creamy goodness.
The products themselves come encased in boxes with a canvas finish to really add authenticity to the art theme.

The range consists of 3 new lipsticks, 3 eyeliners, 2 eye palettes and a blush palette.

As can be expected from such a friendly and inclusive brand such as Urban Decay, the make up artists were really lovely and with the help of 3 volunteers, they showcased some of the gorgeous makeup looks you can create with the new collection. I personally liked the look that was a little out there:

One of the gorgeous volunteers

I am really excited about this collection, I already have the blush but after seeing other bloggers at the event with the various eye palettes I'm pretty sure I need both of these too.

Speaking of the other bloggers, big high fives to the North East bloggers, this is one of the friendliest blog events I've ever been to!

You can check out the new Urban Decay Jean-Michel Basquiat collection on the Urban Decay website.

Let me know if you're thinking of getting any of these pieces, would you hang them from your wall?

Bye for now,

Rosy xx

  2. The Basquiat embellished packaging is really cool but aside from that the products themselves do look really covetable. That blush palette is especially gorgeous!

I love the first eye shadow palette but I don't really like the last two colors (although I like the bold look so hmmm at some crossroads internally). Thanks for sharing! I love that bold look at the bottom, so pretty.
