Jeffree Star Beauty Killer

Hi Everyone!

Seems like an eternity since I did a good old makeup post, I've just not really been buying very much makeup lately... Ok for like the past year, but seriously, how much makeup does one girl need? Apparently another palette so... yeah...

Anyway, at the back end of last year I allowed myself to buy another palette - the Jeffree Star Cosmetics Beauty Killer Palette.

I'm a sucker for pink, I'm a sucker for stars and this product has both, I was putty in the hands of the Beauty Bay website when I saw this stunner, the outer packaging is really pretty too which you can see in the picture below.

Inside, the prettiness continues with the most stunning little star print eyeshadow pans. I have to be honest, not every shade here is daytime friendly, but, with some blending, I think all the shades are quite wearable, even the pink as I've got used to making pink work after THAT palette people went wild for last year.

Can we just all take a moment to revel in the beauty that is this palette (and yes, the shade 'expensive' did turn up damaged - thanks Beauty Bay :( and ironically, the palette is expensive... I'm sure it's the world trying to tell me not to waste money on makeup). The design is pretty unique and I don't think I have anything like this in my collection - although I do have a very similar pink shade.

My favourite shade in the palette is 'Courtney' and I predict this will be the shade I use till I hit pan, it will be a great lid colour or crease colour, matte and highly pigmented... Absolute stunner.
The shade that was a bit of a let down is Violence, it worked lovely when applied with fingers but for some reason it was weak when picked up with a brush, still though, fingers did the trick and I managed to get great pigmentation from it.

The showstopper shade, however, was Black Rainbow as on first glance it appears like a black shimmer shade but when you look closer, the glitter particles are all different colours hence the rainbow name.

Overall I'm really pleased I own this palette but would I repurchase again if I had my time over? Probably not as it did take a while to get here, I ended up with the wrong invoice in my box (yes ladies and gents, I was sent someone else's invoice) and the product was damaged, but still... look at the stars and pink.

Have you got or tried this product? Have you had anything happen where you ended up with the wrong invoice and a damaged product?

This year, I would like to venture out of my comfort zone and find some makeup looks to try for at least the evening ( don't know if I could do color at work =P). These palettes looks really pretty and super pigmented too!

  29. at Christmas, I ordered my husband a cheap movie from a large store here in the U.S.... when it arrived, my name & address were on the envelope, but inside was the completely wrong invoice and someone else's invoice!! It was simultaneously hilarious and bizarre. I reaaaally want this palette, but I'm hesitant to order it because it is quite expensive--however, since I'm in the U.S., I'd be ordering direct from Jeffree's warehouse & I know he's very persnickety about how his products were handled. I think he'd been really upset to see you'd gotten a damaged product!!
